It is time for spring sports! Practices start on Monday, February 27.

The Lincoln County Health Department will be offering an immunization clinic at the Elsberry School District on Wednesday, April 5. The forms are attached to this post. All questions in regards to insurance and eligibility for the clinic need to be directed to the LCHD at 636-528-6117. The deadline to register and return all completed forms to school is Wednesday, March 29.

On our Monday work days our EMS teachers are given an opportunity to teach one another by sharing instructional strategies and information gained from conferences they have attended individually. Engaging every student today to prepare them for a successful future tomorrow is our EMS mission statement and staying up to date on the most recent research and instructional strategies is a way to make this mission statement a reality.

While the 7th graders were at their field trip the 8th graders had STEM day. Students learned about the problem solving process, collaboration, communication, critical thinking and creativity while attempting different tasks in each rotation. The rotations included building towers, constructing bridges, designing a parachute and completing a zip line challenge. There are more photos in the STEM Day 2023 album on Facebook.

Last week the 7th graders wrapped up a unit on personal finance by attending a simulation at J.A. Finance Park in Chesterfield. While in the simulation, students were assigned identities and provided with financial obligations like student loan debt and families. Students then worked to build a budget to meet their family's needs and goals and tested those budgets by trying to shop within their bounds.

There is only one thing that can replace a book: the next book. Go check out these new books at the EHS library.

We are hiring! Current job postings as of February 14, 2023 for the 2023-2024 school year.

Each week a small group of EMS Junior Honor Society students volunteer at the St. Joachim and Ann food pantry in Elsberry. This is a great example of service learning, which is an opportunity for our students to give back to the community.

The ESD works with multiple local agencies to help meet the needs of our students. During National School Counselors week we wanted to recognize the extra counselors that come into our buildings to support our students. We are thankful for the extra support services and resources these organizations and individuals provide. These services are paid for by the Lincoln County Resource Board via local sales tax dollars.
