
Susan Painter has been an employee of the ESD for 14 years. Susan really cares about all students and hopes for their success in life and school. Her advice to students is "Everyone fails at a point in their life and how you use it is how you learn from it."


On Thursday, April 13 the Elsberry Police Department and the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office have been invited to join our students for lunch. Please do not be alarmed if you see extra emergency vehicles in our parking lot.



Thank you to EMS Student Council for sponsoring 5th and 6th Grade Fun Night. The evening was well attended and a ton of fun. Also a huge shout out to the EHS A+ students who helped make the night a success. Thanks Gage, Matthew, Ali, Alaina and Aubrey for being such awesome volunteers.

Look at this unique opportunity to visit MU on Saturday, April 22. The Department of Physics And Astronomy will hold an OPEN HOUSE on the afternoon of Saturday April 22, 2023. The purpose of this event is to stimulate people’s interest and curiosity in physics. The event is free, and for all ages.


First medal of the EMS track season was earned by Kaiden Ford at the Winfield Mini Medal Meet. Kaiden threw 10.53 in the shot put to get second place.


Paraprofessionals are an integral part of the daily operations and success of the Elsberry R-2 School District. Paraprofessionals provide one on one support to students, instructional support, instructional interventions, and small group instruction. We are very thankful for the paraprofessionals that have chosen to be part of our staff. Please let them know how much they are appreciated if you see them in the community.


The St. Louis Sports Commisssion sponsored an assembly called Musial Moments where fifth and sixth graders were taught about the benefits of sportsmanship and fair play.




On Friday, March 31 the Lincoln County Sheriff's Department came to share information with students in grades 6-12 about Cyber Crime.

Students are invited to wear blue on Friday, March 31 in honor of Autism Awareness. Mrs. Runyon and her students prepared a tree in the EMS hallway in honor of Autism Awareness Day. World Autism Awareness Day is an internationally recognized day celebrated annually on April 2.

Stephanie Cannon has been a member of the EMS and CCE reading staff for four years. Her favorite Elsberry tradition is Kindergarten graduation. You might not know she loves the outdoors, especially days spent fishing and boating!


PTO is hosting My Guy and I is this Saturday, April 1.


3/24/23 The middle school track meet tonight at Montgomery is cancelled. They will work on a rescheduled date.


The Mock Interview is an EMS tradition for 8th grade students. Miss McIntrye guides the students through writing a resume, researching a future profession, and preparing for an in-person interview. We are very thankful to the community members who donate their time to support this project by conducting the interveiws. If you see any of these people in the community, please tell them thank you.
