Parent Summit Reflection
Message from Elsberry FFA: The FFA is trying something new this winter. We are asking for any gently used or new clothes from now until February 2nd. Clothes can be dropped off at the Elsberry High School entrance, Clarence Cannon Elementary office, or the Ag Building. We are taking baby clothes to adult clothes and anything in between them. Then on February 19th, we are setting up the Elementary Gym with all the clothes for anyone from the community to pick out and pick up anything they may need. The idea is to recycle any clothes that people may have and get the clothes to people in our community who may need them. So we are looking for clothing donations and then help getting the word out about the clothing handout date on February 19th starting at 5pm in the elementary gym. If you have any questions please contact Sarah Ray or Jason Vandivort.

Parent Summit, Thursday, January 18, 2024 Emily Kircher-Morris, LPC, is the host of The Neurodiversity Podcast, which explores the psychological, educational, and social needs for enriching the lives of neurodivergent people. She is the author of several books for parents and educators related to the development of children and teens who are neurodivergent and cognitively gifted. Her private practice outside of St. Louis, Missouri specializes in mental health support for neurodivergent kids, teens, and their families. She will be presenting Creating a Neurodiversity-Affirming World on Thursday, January 18, 2024 as part of Parent Summit. The neurodiversity movement is empowering people who learn and think differently to change the world. Cognitive giftedness, ADHD, autism, and dyslexia are a few of the types of brains that fall under the umbrella of neurodiversity. During this talk, Emily will synthesize what we know about neurodivergent people and how we can create a neurodiversity-affirming world.
