We're excited to announce our "Operation Backpack Food Drive," proudly sponsored by Girls on the Run! From October 28th to November 4th, we'll be collecting nonperishable food items to support those in need.

On October 22, our NHS students were thrilled to receive a $1000 donation check to help with our Operation Backpack buddy bag program from the Kiwanis Club of Troy. Thank you so much for helping us make our school and community a better place!

Dan Anderson, Emil Moore, and Suzzette Sprock all came to watch how our organization distributes food to be sent home with food-insecure families and to present our students with a donation to help out with increasing grocery costs. The Kiwanis club recently held a golf tournament and voted to use the proceeds to benefit Lincoln County school "buddy bag" programs.

Next Friday at Barnwarming, advisors Sarah Ray and Jason Vandivort have asked students attending to bring a canned food item to donate to Operation Backpack as well.

This upcoming week, 10/28-10/31 is our annual College and Career week! Students will participate in dress-up days, receive attendance prizes, have guest speakers visit their classes, and attend our College & Job Fair on Tuesday, October 28th, from 2:15 pm-3 pm. Students will plan for their future careers, including college, trade school, apprenticeships, job skills, entrepreneurship, building a resume, and developing interview skills, among other goals.

Tuesday is College Gear day! Represent your favorite college at the fair!

Jostens will be here on Tuesday, October 28, 2:30-3:30, to take orders from seniors for senior items. (announcements, thank you cards, etc.)

They will also be here to take letter jacket orders for any high school student who wants one. They can get order forms from the office, and they will need to order in person on Tuesday, October 28, from 2:30-3:30. If they order in person, they will receive by Christmas. The next time to order a letter jacket will be in January.

Hat Day Alert! 🧢🎩👑

Tomorrow is the day to show off your favorite headwear and support a great cause! For just $1, you can wear a hat to school to celebrate Book Fair Week and benefit The Friends of Elsberry Literacy!

We use fundraisers to plump up the FOEL treasury so that every student is offered a free book in the spring. We also continue to provide textbook grants for qualifying freshmen who need a little extra financial help.
